Looks like the celebrated Princess Diaries star is hooked and booked for now; Anna Hathaway was spotted with bling on her finger recently. The news came out after a shot of Anne and her boyfriend was captured in Brooklyn with the star wearing a ring on her finger. Adam Shulman, who has been going steady with the star for quite some time, is an actor and a jewelry designer. The rock on Anneâs finger has been designed in alliance with Kwiat Heritage Jewels.
How love came by
The two have known each other for a while now and have been going out since 2008. They kept their relationship under wraps all this time. The Get Smart star and her jewelry designer beau were not even fond of being photographed together. The starlet claims that even though they seemed to vibe well from the very beginning, they took their time to become acquainted. It seems in the beginning the two has a slight mix-up, both were under the impression that other was already dating someone.
Oddly, the star was also all prepared to be single and have some fun as a bachelorette when Shulman came into the picture. But destiny had other plans for her and she bumped right into love. Hathaway describes her relationship as easy going and tranquil. She believes it to be much better than a frenetic and intense affiliation, which does not always have a happy ending. Hathaway says that a laid back and calm affair is always for the better, it makes for a good life and a nice story.
A tumultuous past
Before Shulman, Hathaway was dating an Italian real estate developer Raffaello Follieri. The relationship ended roughly, leaving a bitter experience behind. In fact the ending was real bad as Follieri was arrested for fraud. He claimed to have connections with the Pope and under this guise carried out devious deals. Follieri was sentenced four and a half years imprisonment for the crime. It was after the arrest that the actor decided to end her four year long relationship.
Raffaello Follieri funded a charity organization that claimed to support vaccination programs in developing countries. Hathaway was the director of this foundation and severed all ties with the charity when the news of the fraud broke out. The organization came under the scrutiny of New York State Attorney General’s Office. The break up was quite public and left the 29-year-old star devastated. The prime reason for the break up was that Follieriâs fraudulent ways were affecting the starlets public rep.
There were a lot of strains in the relationship, which became apparent during the shooting of Bride Wars. Follieri was a regular visitor on the set and the couple used to argue endlessly. Anne was quite stress about it. In addition, there was news that Follieri hardly spent any time with her and was instead spotted with other models while in New York. After the turbulent split, Hathaway moved away from the east coast to Hollywood to start a new life. The Devil wears Prada actress will be seen onscreen again in the next Batman series, The Dark Knight Rises, opposite Christian Bale. She is playing the legendary Catwoman in the new Batman movie.
