Hip hop star Rihanna has been hailed as a global fashion icon by many. The woman who has shown off her impeccable sense of fashion in almost all styles of dress has now decided to turn designer so that other can also enjoy a bit of her personal style. To promote her collection, the singer made an appearance at the Oxford Street-based River Island store in London. The 25-year-old arrived in one of her own designs that featured a cut-out back, a thigh high split and a floor-length skirt.
The figure hugging black gown may have looked a tad too formal for a store launch though the singer was accompanied by models that paraded in her designs around the store allowing fans to get a closer look at the collection.
The collection was first debuted to the public during the recent London Fashion Week though the store launch is being seen as a way for the singer to promote her Diamonds world tour as well that is set to begin in a few days’ time. To let off some excitement, the singer took to her Twitter account en route to the store and announced her presence at the store to her legions of fans and hundreds of them lined out outside the store to get a glimpse at their favorite star.
En route to the launch, Rihanna covered up the stunning black gown with a white leather jacket and even took the time to offer hugs and kisses to her fans before she got in the car. Since the singer claims that the collection was inspired by her own personal wardrobe, fans would be able to find items that resemble her personal style in it. Of course they would have to go the extra mile to ensure that their hair and makeup looks like the singer as well.
